Three years ago, I had a torn rotator cuff &amp; within two weeks it was compounded by a frozen shoulder (yes, the same shoulder).  I researched and found this site http://www.brianschiff.com.  Brian is a physical therapist and I bought his book for shoulder injuries.

Following his instructions (rest, ice, heat at specific times of day &amp; then exercises), I have completely healed.  Granted, it took a year of daily physical therapy (which really wasn't that difficult) because of the complication of the frozen shoulder (which usually takes 1-2 years to run it's normal course).

Anyway, I highly recommend him.  He's all about safety and lets you know when it's time to see a doctor.  I think he also has some info. on knee injuries as well.  He deals with a lot of athletes w/sports injuries and also teaches how to prevent injuries.

I hope this helps you! Most important thing to remember w/an injury is if it hurts, stop!  In this case, pain is harmful, not helpful.  Don't push yourself, it'll only make it worse.
